Back!

I have returned from an extensive stay abroad, been on a different continent for several months without the time or equipment to keep the site up to date. Luckily the site is rather low maintenance, although a few links have gone cold. I'll be updating the site in the next few days, also trying to respond to all the mails I've received over the past 4 months.



Today I've spent a good day just sorting out dead links, finding alternative ones and adding completely new links. I've added 60 new videos, had to remove 19 and found alternative links for 15 (thanks mostly to your efforts). Adding 60 videos is quite something, so I didn't add descriptions. Just take a look at the changelog and I'm sure you'll find some gems.

Counting error - Not 539 but 594 videos

Hey all,

I was just about to post some more videos, which I'll be doing later on today still. I thought that I have been diligent in my tracking of the videos, but a quick tally in Word shows me that there are more video links then I had originally suspected. Might have made a mistake initially by counting a documentary split up into more than one video as just one video. Anyway, here's the tally so far;

Google Video: 476 videos
Youtube: 59 videos
Veoh: 59 videos

That's a grand total of 594 videos. Once again, I'd like the stress that this is NOT the amount of documentaries. It is safe to say though that there are more than 500 documentaries, my guesstimation would be roughly 530 documentaries at this time. If someone would like to actually count them all, be my guest ;-)

There are a few reasons why I don't do this though,

1 - It takes a lot of time
2 - Do you count a series such as Walking with Dinosaurs as just one (long) documentary?
3 - Some series aren't complete - such as the Ascent of Man
4 - Do you really care? Viewing all would take about 3 weeks.

Gone for a while, but still alive!

Hey all,

The last month and a half have been rather stressful in my personal life, all kinds of changes occurring where I have not been able to spend the necessary time to keep the site up to date. Sorry for not having responded to your mails/suggestions as quickly as I normally would. I'm back in the game though, and still going to keep this website running - of course! I've had masses amounts of emails and have tried to be diligent in responding to everyone.

I'd also like to see a few changes made to the site, been thinking about getting a .com/.net but will continue to stay on Googlepages for now. This does mean that there are some restrictions to what I can and can't do. Don't expect any fancy web 2.0-like features anytime soon, unless Googlepages gets revamped thoroughly.

Whilst most videos will continue to work, some of the links are no longer active. I've checked quite a few videos but there are always a few which remain inactive. If you find any, please let me know and I'll see if I can find an alternative or remove the link altogether.

Thanks for all your support in the past and hopefully still in the future, and let's see if we can continue to keep this site nr 1! on Google when searching for "online documentaries".
